Gorge Literacy Students
Shared Voices
Friday, June 1st
5:30-6:30pm at Waucoma Bookstore
Waucoma Bookstore is hosting the book release and book signing event for Shared Voices. The reading will be on Friday, June 1st from 5:30-6:30pm at Waucoma Bookstore (212 Oak St., Hood River).
Shared Voices was started eleven years ago as a project of Gorge Literacy, a
program of Columbia Gorge Community College, as an opportunity for
beginning writers to become published authors. Where do the authors
come from? Gorge Literacy asks Columbia Gorge Community College
pre-college instructors and volunteer literacy tutors to encourage their
students to submit writing pieces for the Shared Voices publication
each year. It's a “dare to share” activity and with the hope that new writers
will bridge the gap of uncertainty and fear and submit their writing.
The book release event is a special way to recognize emerging writers and celebrate their achievements. Join new writers and others at this celebration of Shared Voices, A New Writers’ Collection, an annual publication from Gorge Literacy and Columbia Gorge Community College.
