Blind Justice (and the rest of the series)

This fantastic series is as good as historical mysteries get!  The likeable young narrator, Jeremy Proctor, is assistant to real-life London magistrate Sir John Fielding in the second half of the 18th century.  Sir John is blind, but he has a real talent for solving mysteries nonetheless!  These books have some of the most believable historical ambiance I've ever read; they're must-reads for anyone who enjoys classic mysteries and/or historical fiction.
