Another wonderful book by Sarah Addison Allen.  Emily moves to the small town of Mullaby, North Carolina to lives with her grandfather after her mother dies.  After a few days in town, she realizes that her mother was a different person in Mullaby and sets out to find out more about her mother's past.  Julia, her grandfather's neighbor, feels obligated to protect Emily, and also finds herself trying to decide if it is time to escape her hometown again.  The author's characters are always charming, and she has a great way of weaving magic into her books.
