Crashers by Dana Haynes Macmillian, $24.99 I don't usually read thrillers, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Portland author Dana Haynes crafted an action thriller based on a team of investigators who are gathering evidence of a plane crash outside of Portland, Oregon. Haynes keeps the story moving with a variety of interesting characters. -Jenny

Juliet
by Anne Fortier
Random House, $25.00
This book is an amazing
combination of historical fiction (14th century Siena, Italy),
Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, and a modern day Juliet in
search of her family history and looking for her own Romeo.

The Cookbook Collector
by Allegra Goodman
Random House, $25.00
Goodman describes her new
novel as Sense & Sensibility for the dot.com era - an
engrossing and luscious read. Two sisters with very different
talents bring together the high tech world and the arcane realm
of rare book collecting. The varied cast of well drawn
characters and the mouth watering eye for detail make this an
unforgettable page turner.

The Books of Elsewhere: The Shadows by Jacqueline West Penguin, $16.99
A great adventure featuring daring,
inquisitive Olive Dunworthy, who moves with her parents to a new
house with a few dark secrets! A silly sense of humor balances with
scary moments in a unique story reminiscent of Neil Gaiman's
Coraline. Lots of fun for all ages!

Sapphique by Catherine Fisher Penguin, $17.99
A great sequel to last year's
Incarceron! The life-and-death dangerous situation inside the Prison
– and the political intrigue outside – are more volatile and
unpredictable than ever, as Finn, Claudia, and their friends try to
stay one step ahead of both. By the end, nothing – Inside or
Outside – will ever be the same. You won't want to put this one
down!
